Is it normal to feel uneasy if an ex-partner contacts you? What is the source of that unease and is it possible to talk normally like friends or acquaintances after a long time apart?

When I first talked to my ex. it was so wierd, like I couldn't even look him in the face... Kinda of a strange feeling...

of course it's normal to feel uneasy. that person is, after all, an ex. and there is usually a good reason behind it. but often times, the source of the unease is a latent feeling of attraction or affection for them. as for the friendship, that may take some time.

At the begining you will feel uneasy, my wife has to meet her ex on family occasions because of the grandchildren, but as her ex has a new woman in his life thing's are a bit easier, there is no tension as everything that happened is in the past and was best for both of them.

it is normal because all of your feelings of insecurity of how the relationship didn't work out and is it going to happen again come back. it's normal to talk as friends, i have an ex from years ago that i am friends with, when we first broke up it wasn't possible, but we have both been through a lot and taken responsibility for our parts on why the relationship didn't work, and we can talk as friends.

Just get on with it and if he talks to you, talk to him back but don't feel uneasy. You's two can still be mates as the both of you probably have moved on with your lives without realising you have. Just don't think about the past think the future.

well no it never easy and it turn to jealous once you see him with someone else but i guess it depend how you feel and alot of people are friends with their exs

i found that when they start talking and callin they either want something, or something else is up usualy.and it is wired. good luck. later
