On the first day that I used the ovulation test (on the day that the directions said) and both lines were the same color (they said that one should be lighter until the LH spurge). Is it too late to get pregnant

If they are both the same color you should be ovulating soon....You might be ovulating sooner then you thought....Just keep testing for a few more days and see what the lines do....I would start having sex now and go untill you are done testing....

Good luck

If both lines were the same color you are about to ovulate and you need to start having sex within the next 12-24 hours, and have sex every other day for a few days. Once one line is lighter than the other you have already ovulated or have no ovulated yet.

The test line should be the same color as or darker than the control line.
Once this happens, ovulation can be anywhere from 6 to 36 hours away so have the same day as the positive test.
Test again the next day because sometimes you catch your surge at the very beginning and will get another darker test the next day. I would sometimes get as many as 3 days worth of positive tests.
Just make sure you take the test at the same time every day (between noon and 4pm is best), hold your urine for 3hrs and dont drink anything 3hrs prior.

When the lines were the same color that meant that you had reached your LH surge. LH surges 12-36 hours PRIOR to ovulation. Once you ovulate you have at most 24 hours until the egg dies. So from the time you saw the 2 lines you had 1-2.5 days to have your egg fertilized.

Once they are the same color you are ovulating. But you should still have some time to catch the egg.
