I use Virtual Memory but can I make windows report it as additional ram? I have 256mb ram but share 64mb with my graphics card so windows reports 192mb. A game (zoo tycoon 2) needs windows to report 256mb ram for it to run. I really want to play it. I wont decrease my shared memory. Can anyone help me?

You cannot do that...I suggest buying more RAM, it's quite cheap right now too. 256MB is not a lot of RAM anymore, I suggest going with at least 512MB. TigerDirect has very good deals...if you do not know what kind of RAM you need, check out Crucial.

you may have no choice but to up the ram or buy a video card with it's own ram. If you resize the virtual memory things will slow to a crawl. You need 1gig of ram these days anyway at a minimum.

You will have to increase your system RAM to do so. Virtual memory can not be used as shared memory, it is far too slow seeing how this type of memory is read and writted on from the Hard Drive..

depending on type of RAM for 256 stick you will pay about £15, or you could try 64meg it will cost pennies, not all of us can just run out and buy more RAM, sorry to say that cant make virtual memory read as ram.

You won't like it if you can do it without screwing up the hard drive. It will slow you down to a crawl. install more memory
