Wow, that's awful. No, I never had that happen. A couple years ago I was at the drugstore the day after Christmas and found 2 brand new $100 bills on the floor. I felt bad because I thought it was someone's Christmas money that they must have gotten as a gift. I gave it to the store manager. They only had one security camera by the entrance and the money was dropped at the back of the store. The manager put it in an envelope and took down my name and number. A week later, the manager called to say that no one claimed the money so legally it's mine. I was really broke at the time and so excited to be $200 richer. I always wondered if it was an act of charity by a stranger or a guardian anger.

I lived in New York for many years and have come across pick pockets. You may find them in crowded areas and many times there is more then one person working with them. One may stop you when entering a bus by looking for the right change so their partner behind you can do the dirty deed. Also I've found that when shopping in a store keep your pocketbook close to your chest if possible by wearing a bag with a large strap. Often times when your looking through the racks there maybe 2 ppl next to you. Guard your bag carefully in these cases since its a ideal opportunity for them to access ur wallet or money without you ever noticing.

Yes.....well not exactly to me but I know 3 women who's purses have been stolen.
Victim#1:My aunt was in church and she left her purse under the car seat......when she came out there was a broken window and the purse and some CD's were missing!
Victim#2:My sister's teacher was in a shopping mall and she went to the bathroom... she put her purse on the floor underneath that little space that leads outside.....somebody stuck their hand in there, grabbed the purse and ran!
Victim#3:Yestersday, my step aunt was handing out a flier to one of her customers and she left her purse in the car and a teenager with a metal pole broke the window and took the purse right before her eyes!
Moral of this Story: Be careful out there during Christmas and Holiday times....Many people dont have enough money and think robbing is the answer.
Merry Christmas!!! I wish you good luck!

My sister was in the mall and went to try on a pair of shoes in a crowded store and put down her purse behind her and a girl snatched her money. She saw the girl who took it but none of the mall security would do anything about it. Saying that nobody else saw her take it. It stinks, but what else are you going to do? Be careful out there this season.

Agreed. I parked my car a few blocks from the shops because I new parking would be hard to find. I figured its broad daylight and everything would be fine since a lot of people were around. When I returned one of my back seat windows were smashed and everyone around were just oblivious to what happened. In this holiday season remember some people have it tougher than others and that leads them to desperate acts. Watch out for your love ones.

When i'm in malls or large stores i leave my pocket book locked up in the trunk of my car under a large coat. I just take the bare necessities with me like money, credit cards, id etc. I have heard of pocket book snatchings in my area lately so thats why i leave it in the car but if i happen to take it with me i hold onto it very tightly. If anyone takes my pocket book their taking me with it.

Yes. I was a K mart and put down my credit card to sign the receipt and when I got home I realized it was not in my wallet. I called but no-one had turned it in so I am sure the person behind me in kine took it when I wasn't looking. Lesson learned..ALWAYS..put your card back BEFORE YOU SIGN for anything.
Still have a Happy Holiday Season!

I'm always aware of this, not just at christamstime. I always carry a long handled handbag which i always put over my head and across my body. Might not look to 'cool', but it beats having it snatched. Up until yet, i have NEVER had it or any of my purses stolen. (I'd better touch wood now!!).

I'm so sorry that happened to you! I really hope it hasn't left you in difficulties for the season. It's horrible to be a victim of crime at any time of year but it does seem worse when it happens at Christmas.
I hope that in spite of this you have a brilliant Christmas and a wonderful new year!

My wife nearly had her bag snatched in our town centre Last week.
Lucky for her she had it held tight on her shoulder and the offenders got caught by undercover police offices patrolling the town.
