Depends on the kind. Gripe water has all the same ingredients and it is designed for infants. Perhaps you can check that out.
And for all the people that called this person a freak...merry christmas and lay off. Sleepy time tea has no drugs or sedatives of any kind in it and I think this person should be commended for trying to think of herbal methods to soothe her baby. Sleepy time tea is gluten free, contains no sugar and is an herbal tea. Ingredients: Chamomile flowers, spearmint leaves, lemon grass, tilia flowers, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn berries, and rosebuds. The rule always applies to check with your Doctor before you give anything to your baby because even though it is herbal it isn't necessarily safe and may trigger some allergens. But like I said, gripe water has many of the same ingredients and it is made for infants with upset stomachs. You could also try the soothing comfort bath for bedtime if you are looking for other ideas.

i gave it to my older daughter when she was two. theres no caffeine in it so i don't see why it would be harmful, although mind you, i am not a doctor. ask your pediatrician. dont tell her that you already gave it to the baby if youre afraid of looking like a bad parent, just tell her that the baby is having problems sleeping and you were wondering if sleepy time tea is okay to give to the baby. worst thing that could happen is that she would tell you yes or no.

My daughter had collic and I gave her the sleepy time tea. It was VERY weak, with no sugar, but the warmth helped her tummy and the tea helped calm her down.
She started collic at 2 months and it lasted until 5 months.

Chamomile tea is safe to give babys, it helps with colic, and makes them calm, check with your doctor before, but it is 100% safe.

You mean to actually give them to drink? Or if your nursing is it ok for you to drink??
If your nursing, yes you can drink it and it will be ok for the baby.
If you mean to give it to the child in a bottle or sippy before the age of 1...then no, its not safe to do that.

No. Babies need to learn to sleep on their own. By drugging them to sleep (Unless they are sick and you give them night-time medicine) you will be setting them up for a lifetime of sleeping problems.
