the national anthem should be changed. I can understand you. The national anthem doesn't speak for everyone in the UK so should be changed to something that is more appropriate

Who's national anthem are you talking about? I wouldn't stand for another country's anthem, but I'd be respectful enough not to talk through it.
To many people it's a meaningless concept that this song is supposed to represent national pride. Personally I think I would stand for my national anthem even though it's all about the Queen, she is the head of state, and the UK is a hell of a lot better than some places to live.

No, I cannot understand that unless you are unable to stand due to physical limitations. Standing during the national anthem is a sign of respect for the United States . You may not like certain policies or politicians which is the right you have as a citizen of this country. Is there somewhere else you would enjoy living more? Is there anywhere else in the world that allows you such freedom to openly dissent? Respect this and stand up for the anthem and for the people who have died believing this freedom and country were worth dying for. If you will not stand, then please consider the hundreds of other countries you may choose from in which to live and attempt to practice such freedom. Lots of luck. Please hurry on and leave. There are so many people who are waiting and have waited for years to take your place.

You are not the only one who does not stand for the National anthem. If you go to a cinema (movie house) and they play the natl anthem at the end of the screening, most people are already scrambling for the exit during the opening bars of "gawd sive eower nowble quin...."

I understand it perfectly. You have no national pride. Doesn't matter to me what country you are from, if you are capable of standing for your own national anthem, but are unwilling to do so, then you are not showing any love or respect for your homeland. The choice is yours as a free person, so nothing more is required for me to say other than that I disagree with such a disrespectful position and lack of appreciation for the sacrifices which have secured that freedom.

It doesn't matter what country your from or what country your in. It is a sign of respect to stand for that countries anthem. It doesn't mean you agree with that countries actions or polices. In The USA most people will let you get away with not standing or not removing your hat (MALES) Try going to N Korea or CUBA and trying it.
So if you want to prove you have no manners no respect and not worth wasting any more time on ..................just keep sitting on your brain
frasier I would like to see you return the genitalia of an ARMY RANGER or a MARINE

Actually the National Anthem is representative of our Queen and Country. All countries have one. By dissing the Anthem you are dissing your queen and country. You may not like the royal family but then you don't really know what they do for the country. If you did you would understand why we still have a royal family. I am not touting the royal family but I do know my facts.

You should be happy for the country you live in, you have a a roof over your head, food to eat, and a school to go to, right? and you oviously have internet. Guess What? your country supplies all that. If your not happy with the country that lets you have all those things, then thats your problem.
