DVD Shrink is extremely easy to use. It writes all the files to a directory on your hard drive and then automatically burns the DVD copy. Just put the movie in a read-drive, and the DVD-R in the DVD burner. Open the first drive, select the drive, push backup. It will ask you what directory to put the files, just say OK to every question (unless there is some unusual copy protection on this disc, in which case give DVDFab a try).

Unfortunately the author did not have time to write a comprehensive documentation on how to use DVD Shrink. However if you are stuck, there is a wealth of valuable information on the internet. Please take the time to follow the links below:
Doom9 has written an excellent DVD Shrink Guide which covers pretty much everything you can do with DVD Shrink.
Also a detailed DVD Shrink Guide at DVD±R Digest.
Also check out the interative guides at dvdshrink.info.
mrbass has written an excellent guide with lots of screenshots at mrbass.org.
If you are suffering read errors or copy protection errors with a certain DVD, using DVD Decryptor usually solves the problem. A guide for using this tool with DVD Shrink can be found here

DVD Shrink will work but is slow compared to CloneDVD and AnyDVD. If you are backing up alot of DVDs go to http://www.slysoft.com and download and install CloneDVD and AnyDVD they are free for 21 days and will compress and backup a 3hr dvd to a dvd5 size disk in about an hour. DVDShrink doesn't compress as fast as CloneDVD and Ner0 is even slower than dvd shrink. If your not in a hurry DVDshrink works OK and is pretty self-explanatory just set the target file size and location and put in a DVD, from there it is pretty much automatic. DVDshrink doesn't remove the latest encryption so I would download AnyDvd anyway because AnyDvd will ignore the latest encryptions. DVDShrink is no longer supported so the newest encryption standards will give you problems..

I use dvdshrink and dvddecryter together they run and even burn the dvd without any nero .You install dvd and turn on decryter and push open disc, and about everything is done auto from there.Make sure in shrink you( uncheck burn with nero.)In decrypter when it ask for a target to burn select C:/burn with dvddecrypter, File target will be movie name.Simple try it youll like it.As long as your not selling the dvds ,you wont get into trouble.

Make sure you have Nero installed too...if you do, DVDShrink will burn the DVD for you also. Just put in the DVD and click the Backup button in DVDShrink. It will take a while.
