Chances are slim as long as they keep spending their money
on Griffey. They need to look at their fans and notice that they have one of the most loyal fan bases in the sport. They should respect
their fans and try harder to win. Also, every time they start doing
good, they trade their good players for more sorry pitchers. They need to stop trying to fix what isn't broken.
Until then, they will not make it to the World Series.

The Red are my team, and have been forever. I'll never turn my back on them. They always have as good a shot as the Cards at taking the Central in during the season. The offense is there, and the defense is too except in the #1 spot. The Reds bullpen is TERRIBLE!!! Bless their hearts! That's their Achilles Heel in the beginning. Then it just seems like in the last month of the regular season the entire team just gets tired. Too tired to win even. Big Adam Dunn gets to Sept. 1st, and its as if he's done for the season. His trips to the plate in Sept. were just about useless. And I love the guy, don't get me wrong. So to answer the question, as much as I love my Reds I don't think they'll ever get back to the World Series until they get some kinks worked out. However, when they do get back there you can bet I'll be there. I was there in 1990. I won't miss their next one either!

This is about the same chance as the 1990 Reds had to sweeping the Oakland A's... Gosh, I wish we had Eric Davis back!!!!
With Wayne in the front office, I feel that you can't count the Reds out of anything... I feel good wtih Harrang and Bronson... Need one or 2 solid starters....
Never say never with the Reds though, heck look at what the Tigers did!!!

I have been a Reds' fan since 1959. The game has changed a lot. Now, because of free agency, teams spend millions of dollars on their players. The Reds don't have the money to spend, and they don't seem to be developing any potential stars in the minors. At one time, Griffey was the best player in baseball. Now, he is injury prone, yet the Reds have a lot of money tied up with him. I don't see a World Series anytime soon. We need pitching and better basic fundamentals.

I think it is unlikely that Cincinnati comes in higher then 4th in their division. They have done nothing in the offseason and benefited last year from the multiple injuries suffered by the other teams in the central division. Look for St. Louis, Chicago, Houston and Milwaukee to all finish ahead of the Reds.

Are you kidding me!?!? They just traded two young prospects for 40 year-old utility-traveler Jeff Conine!!! It that doesn't get them to the World Series than I don't know what will!!!! Joe Mays and Eric Milton will both win 25 games and Griffey Jr will hit 75 freakin' homeruns - take that Barry "Balco" Bonds!
But I love Adam Dunn - The "Dave Kingman" of the 2000s. 40 homeruns and a .234 batting average - gotta luv it!
Good Luck and Happy Kawanza Baby!!!

I like their chances of getting to the playoffs, but not the World Series. There are a lot of players on that team that I like, like Freel and Harang. It would be nice to see them sneak in next year.

Well the current odds in Vegas are 60-1...so it's a long-shot at best.
But hey, anything can happen in baseball, right?

Sorry, but there's no chance. The mets, cardinals, cubs, padres, dodgers, phillies, marlins, astros and probably the braves are going to be better teams.
