I was looking through a catalog (Victoria Secret for example) and some of these models, almost all of them, you can see their rib cage! But anywhere else you don't see signs of too skinny. Now how would showing your ribcage be attractive?

Don't worry I never wish to look like the models in the magazine because it's their body not mine, everyone's body is unique sorta.

I'm going to stick up for the naturally skinny girls like I always do when people start trashing the bony body type. Sometimes being really skinny is genetic, like it is on me. I WANT to be curvier like "average" women, but there is nothing I can do about it. I am 5 feet 10 1/2 inches and I weigh about 105, and it starts to make me feel insecure about it when I hear all you people saying how gross people like me look. I definitely don't want to be a model, and I'm sorry that the fashion industry is choosing thinner people to be models, but all of the people who answered negatively should embrace all body types, because every kind is beautiful.

I think the Victoria Secret models are the best
they don't look to skinny they look a healthy skinny

I've never noticed there rib cage but I guess they could show
I don't think that the ribcage would be sexy either but since they do have to be skinny I guess that would be a side effect
at least they are not like actresses who are so skinny you can see every bone in their body
Hopefully this skinny fad will be over soon

I noticed that too when I was looking through it the other day. According to fashion designers, only skinny people look good in all clothes. I disagree. While thin girls look better in some clothes compared to overweight girls, I think the opposite thing can be true. I think that while they shouldn't put obese people on the runway, since that would be promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, they should not put emaciated women there either, because they are equally unhealthy. Adriana Lima, one of the Victoria Secret 'Angels' is at a very HEALTHY weight, and I think more girls like that should be in the modeling world.

No you can't leave school. Modeling school is not real school - it's just classes on a Saturday or Sunday And modeling school is a complete waste of money - it won't make you a model, will cost you thousands, and can actually prevent you from getting into an agency as most of the big agencies want to train models themselves and won't take anyone who had gone to modeling school

Well, I don't think rib cages are attractive and some modeling agencies are starting to recognize this. It will take time to shift the mentality but I would like to see women with more meat on them.

I haven't looked through that but I do agree with you because I know for a fact that Adriana Lima's ribs are prominent.

I'm actually a healthy weight and my ribs slightly show but they're not obvious. You can see a picture if you want in my 360, you can sort of see it at the top right of my stomach.

Ribs aren't attractive. Real woman are generally supposed to be soft and curvy, not boney. I have no idea how this started to be "in" and good. It's done a lot of damage to our society, especially women. There are magazines with real women (though still made up to look perfect) like BBW.
