For me, it was 1998. I was single, had no one special in my life, and I had come down with the flu. Also, most of my friends had moved away. I was sick and lonely and had reached the conclusion that this Christmas was gonna suck big time.
Christmas morning I got up and I thought I heard someone outside. I went to the door and looked, but there was no one there. There was, however, a box. I brought it inside and opened it. Inside there was homemade cookies, chicken soup, a deck of Uno, and a note. The note read.."I heard you were sick and could use some cheering up", signed "Santa". I was overcome with emotion. Someone might as well have bought me the Hope diamond because I couldnt feel more joyous. But who WAS this Santa? I found out several days later that my next door neighbor had told my landlord I was alone and sick, and the two of them had put together this Christmas "care" package for me. It gave me back something I had lost.....the true spirit of Christmas.

When my son was 1 1/2 we got him a Little Tykes train bed. My husband and I put the bed together on christmas eve night after our son went to sleep. While he was asleep, we moved him out of his crib and moved the train bed in his room and when he woke on Christmas morning he was in his train bed. The look on his face was priceless. He is 8 yrs old now but I will never forget that Christmas.

My most memorable Christmas had nothing to do with me, per se. Back in 1985, my father gave my mother a fur coat (when fur wasn't so "taboo"). That year, it was 75 degrees on Christmas Day but she wore it anyway. I had never seen her so happy to sweat, but she kept on smiling and profiling like it was 20 degrees.

P.S. Your experience really captures the true meaning of Christmas. God Bless.

Great story.
I remember actually when I was 3, living in Calgary with my family. Oddly enough, 22 years later it is still the most memorable Xmas.

2003. My older daughter was only about 8 weeks old. The church "borrowed" her to be Baby Jesus in the Christmas program and they had all the microphones up on the stage so they could hear the little kids talking, and I saw her start wiggling in the manger and then she farted and all the little kids couldn't stop giggling long enough to say their lines..

aw,thats so cool..=) I have lived so long & seen so many now many were special but one comes to mind..always..
1991...My husband was in a Hospital waiting on a heart transplant,He went downhill fast,on Christmas Eve I was told he may not make it thru the night..
One thing we loved to share was slow dancing,so to celebrate his making it to midnight he put his Garth Brooks tape on..He slowly got up out of the bed, disconnected his IV, The song "If tomorrow never comes"started playing and he asked if he could have this dance,so we did..slower than usual but still moving..The nurses had cracked the door to the room to look in due to his bells & whistles going off since he was disconnected, but they just smiled & shut the door..When the song was over he laid back down...I excused myself to go to the restroom to shed some tears alone,so not to bring his spirits down, when I returned he was gone, passed away..The nurse said he left me a message on his walkman tape..It was that same song playing that
we just danced to..RIP Bill..=)

Happy Holidays babe..=)

Every Christmas I spend with my husband is special, and one particular Christmas back in 2001.
