How many of you think the employees of walmart should quite their crying? I saw a new comercial about people whining because they cant afford walmart's health ins. and stuff. My job doesn't offer health insurance, and you dont see me crying on TV about it. Dont they realize that having a job is a PRIVELAGE and not a RIGHT? If they dont like it, go work somewhere else! It's not like walmart pays less than minimum wage!

If anything walmart gives jobs to the people who wouldn't normally get jobs anywhere else like the retired people and "slow" people. You dont hear them complaining! They're just happy to have jobs!

They all need to relize that Walmart offers amazing prices, and no matter how many TV commercials they put out, people are not going to stop shopping there!

I don't know any more of the story than you stated, but I think I'm with ya. I work my butt off taking care of my family, going to school full time, working and it never stops, but I sure don't have insurance. I can't even get Medicaid because you have to make about $800 or less a month to get it and no one can survive on that. I'm in pain and just had to go get an ultrasound done yesterday and it was $550 for that alone plus the dr. to 'read' it and my own dr. visit. I'll be paying on that one for a while and the surgery they'll want to do will have to be put off for a long time. This is something I truly "can't afford" (see my other answers). Humans do tend to complain a lot.

It's people like you that only value the cost of a can of beans that have made Wally World the mega super giant that they are today. The reason they have "AMAZING PRICES" is because they don't provide benefits to their employees. The employee cost are lower and they pass the savings along to the shopper. However, what you don't seem to understand is that ultimately you pay in the form of taxes. These tax dollars pay for Wal-Mart's associates and their families Medicaid and other free services the government provides for families under a certain income level.

Wally-World has also single-handily squashed the American dream of "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". How many entrepreneurs in small rural areas has Wal-Mart put out of business? If people would stop shopping at Wal-Mart they would be forced to change the dynamic of their business. But you are probably correct when you say people are not going to stop shopping there. Most people care more about saving a dime than they do about humanity. I have not given Wal-Mart any of my money in a very long time.

FYI, Wal-Mart cannot pay less than minimum wage because that is mandated by Federal law.

Wal mart uses their employees. My daughter started working there. She was hired on part time, yet they scheduled her for 48 hours a week . No benefits either. After she was there a year, she decided to go to college which Wal mart supports. They gave her the O.K. and said she would still get 35-40 hours. She got cut back to 16-24 hours a week. Would not give her more. They are a multi-million dollar company that could do ALOT more for there employees.

Walmart is a multi billion dollar company that offers thier employees next to nothing. Thier idea of offering health insurance was advising thier employees on how to get state Medi-cal.
