I'm at a loss!! I need to buy a gift for my 28 y/o brother. He is going away in January on a vacation. What besides getting him t shirts and shorts for his vacation can I buy him? I'm not as well off as he is so I can only spend a hundred bucks. What should I buy him??
Please give me your suggestions.
Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

Lol, I go through this every year. See, I'm poor but the rest of my family is pretty well off. If I don't spend at least a hundred bucks I look cheap!! (They spend more than 100 on me)
I think by next year I'll have a better job so I can afford to spend money like this. As it is, when I'm done shopping I'm totally broke! (But I feel good inside to give such nice gifts and have such nice gifts given to me as well). I know that Christmas is not about material things but I want want to look cheap so I go broke! lol

LOL,
itsmeinin I'm not lookin for money! I know I'm poor! I accept that and also realize that only I can change that situation. I'm not looking for handouts so I really don't get your post. If I needed help I'd realize that this forum is so not the place to ask for it. I'd go to a church or salvation army etc. So if your reponse to me is to somehow twist things around and use it as an opportunity to beg for money please do it somewhere else. I appreciate what your saying. I live in a big old farmhouse and have literally gone without heat when I couldn't afford the oil to put in. I have survived on canned food bank rations and after crashing my car (with no insurance, couldn't afford it) I was stuck here on this farm alone and with no transportation. I know all about hard times, my friend! But I still wouldn't ask for money in a forum or even hint upon it. It's tacky!! Anyways, Merry Christmas to all of you, rich and poor. God's love shines on us all regardless of out income bracket.

It really depends on what your brother likes, and whether or not you want to specifically get him something for the trip.

If he has a digital camera you might want to get him a memory card for it, especially if he is the type to take lots of pictures on a trip.

If he has an iPod, you might get him some accessories that he doesn't have.

If he is the type to want to call home a lot while on his trip, a prepaid phone card might be a good idea. Especially if he either doesn't have a cell phone, or if he has one with roaming.

Find a really nice restaurant where he is going and get him a gift certificate from there.

If it doesn't need to be for the trip, you can always find some really cool autographed items on e-Bay, no matter what he likes.

Hope at least one of my ideas helped you think of something just perfect for your brother. Merry Christmas!

How about an electric gatuiar. look around there are lots of great gatuiars around for $100.00.
I hope this helped! Good luck and Merry Christmas!

if he doesn't have a camera, how about a disposable underwater camera so he can take some pictures? or, if he is one to tan, then maybe a tanning pacakge? of course, i don't know if he is going somewhere warm. sunglasses? a travel guide to where he is visiting? some nice, comfy sandals? luggage? hope that helps. good luck!

Wow -- for 100 bucks, you could get him a small MP3 player and a gift card to download about 20 songs.

(pssst -- 100 bucks is a lot)
