We've taken a shot at it with the U.N.
The problem is that every country would have to relinquish their sovreignty for the good of the world and not pursue their own self interests.
Until we can convince all countries of that, the best we'll be able to do is have a body like the U.N., possibly the EU.

There should be NO world government. Our founding fathers fought extremely hard to keep us independant and separate from outside rulings. That's why we are who we are. That's why this is the Land of the Free. Freedom isn't free! The price of Freedom is Blood and plenty has been shed over the years protecting the Freedom of this nation and the rights that come with that freedom. NO world government. Half of us barely pay attention to the government HERE, how are we gonna manage keeping up as a nation with a World Government? My opinion....Let's keep it right here!

Absolutely not. Different countries of the world are too different in their ideology and culture to ever be ruled by a single government.
It would basically mean Asia would elect the government. What business does Asia have ruling over Europe, the Americas, or Africa? They don't understand them, and I wouldn't expect them to.

We can't even impose democrasy on Iraq, and now you want us to impose it on the world??? That will go over like a ton of bricks. Believe it or not, there are a lot of countries that have no interest in being like the US.

No. I don't even like it that liberals in New York or California have a say in who my president is. Ploitics should be at a local level. Hi Ri.

It would be interesting to see who the Islamists, Christians, Jews, Scientologists, Catholics, Fundamentalists, Evangelists, Atheists, and Nazis voted for.

interesting proposal...but if it is by majority wouldn't the 1 billion Chinese be the deciding vote.
And then what would the neocons do with a Chinese Buddhist running the world?

How would you propose we do that?
Other countries don't want to be like the US. that's why most other countries are all messed up. That wouldn't make since and you couldn't at all do it anyways.
