In my opinion, with the situation in Iraq and the sensitivity of international terrorism it a bit dodgy to start making claims that the US represents freedom and it is offensive to the victims of 9/11 to bring politics into their tradgedy... the Phoenix Tower would be much more appropriate you are right...

I have no idea myself. To be honest, it would be better named the Phoenix Tower---rising from the ashes.

I think they were going off of somekind of thought process that we are a free nation or some bullshi@. To me,. I think a little more thougt could have been put into it,... I'd much rather have it be called the memorial tower or something cheesy like that as apposed to the "freedom tower" i even like that one girls answer about the "phoenix tower" that would be good too.

Thanks for asking. I visited Ground Zero last week, as we call it. It is still a very painful place for many people.

For me, it symbolizes a collective freedom. Another group attempted to destroy our national sense of community. Instead, we came closer together because of it, at least for a while.

For me, it shows that the people of the US won't give up on their personal and collective freedoms just because someone else tried to take it away.

That the U.S. is ``free'' is a universal misconception and hackneyed gov't propaganda. We have more people in jails/prisons than any other country and for what? To send young people the ``right message'' about ``drugs?''

``God bless America?'' Yeah, RIGHT!
