I'll break it down feature by feature...

# Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2#
Well this is pretty much a given, but you may want to check and see if they have a free upgrade coupon for vista (as it is only a month away from launching.

# Intel Celeron M410 (1.46 GHz)#
This is a good processor for simple things like watching DVDs, surfing the net, and using office style apps (Like office, et all... ), but falls desperately short of being effective for applications that require a lot of "horsepower" like photoshop, maya, etc... .

# 15.4 TFT WXGA colour display#
While 15.4 isn't the largest screen available, it is suitable to work with. and the WXGA monitors screens are good, but not the best. They are good for all the things listed above.

# Dual-layer DVD writer/re-writer#
It's always great to have a DVD backup. Single layer DVDs are really inexpensive now, and hold up to 4.7 gigabytes of data. So it take a lot fewer DVDs to back up your important data.

# Intel Graphics Media Accelertaor 950#
The intel graphics chipset is no powerhouse by any means, but is good for simple computing stuff, and is good for some light gaming. However if you want to play PREY, or other brand new games at the highest quality, you will be disappointed.

# 60Gb hard disk drive#
This is a good size for a laptop. You can always get an external hard drive for your information if it gets full.

# 512Mb DDR II RAM memory#
This is a good starting amount, but I would upgrade if you are planning on going with Windows Vista.

# High-definition audio & 2 integrated loud speakers#
This is a relative term. Laptop speakers generally won't rival a set of klipsch promedia series speakers, but do work well for their size.

# Wireless LAN 802.11g/b/a with up to 54 MBit/s#
This is pretty much a given with any new laptop. More than likely it is using the intel wireless card, which has good range, but even if it isn't, it will still do the same thing.

# 10/100 MBit Fast-Ethernet#
Also a given. nothing really special here.

# 4 x USB 2.0#
Since you may want to plug other devices (Camera, scanner, mouse, etc...) into your laptop, it is good to have at least 2 USB ports. This has four, so that's even better.

All in all it is a good laptop for surfing the net, doing office work, light gaming, and watching DVD's. However, if you are looking for a multimedia powerhouse, you will need to look at something else. Like a sager, voodoo, falcon NW, and the like. Or you can look at some of the higher end of that particular brand you are looking at. You could always build your own. Asus makes a ready to build laptop where you provide the Processor, RAM, Hard Drive, and OS, and it is ready to go.

Good for what use ?

For business or school ....YES....it will perform adequately.
For gaming & video editing ....NO.... it will seriously dissapoint.

The unit not only has Inltel's slowest line of processors, but a rather slow & outdated one even among its own kind.

Again, there is nothing wrong with owning this unit, however, you must understand that it has serious limitations as to processing power.

Also the brand is obscure & does not have any proven track record.

Clearly, the main atttaction to this unit is the price ... not the punch.

walmart lol.. Depends on what you wanna do with your laptop.. For regular needs this will do fine.. But as far as gaming, photoshop, video editing, etc.. this wont push much.. I would mainly look at a processor above 2.3GHz with at least a 600MHz FSB..

The processor is fairly slow. I would look online at Action or Misco.
