Politicians would dip even further from the social security pool to compensate for the loss of tobacco revenue. And that is mad.

They have no intention of stopping tobacco....it is a big source of tax revenue. They just like to pay lip service to the groups who want it stopped. If they REALLY wanted people to give up then instead of funding all those c.rap commercials etc they would give out the stop smoking patches and other aids free and people might actually give up. I mean its human nature. People who smoke (and I am one of them) dont really WANT to stop even though they know they should. And when the stop smoking aids are more expensive than the cigarettes...well...thats the perfect excuse not to give up. Do they really think ads on tv will discourage people who smoke? Not likely...actually it makes me want to have one every time I see the ad. Its like these charities like heart disease and cancer etc etc...totally bogus. They have been getting billions of dollars for research for mega years now and what is the leading cause of death still? Heart disease. Come on. It's all a crock. What WOULD people die of if heart disease and cancer were eliminated? Anyway I wont get started on THAT subject. They wont get rid of tobacco...just make it more expensive.

I do not think that everyone would go mad. However, there would be some unstable people. Tobacco is an addiction. It is not something that people can just stop doing.
It is like putting a person through detox. They will be angry and craving for the taste of a cigarette. Once these people get the sensation out of their system they will be OK.
I cannot tell you that they will not want a cigarette again. However, I can only pray for them, since it would be illegal.

There are several things that could and most likely would happen. First there would be many people breaking the law. This is if they were able to buy tobacco illegally at this point. I myself would purchase it if I were able to and I would continue to smoke my cigars. This would be just another step our country (US) is taking towards their present communistic ways. It is another step closer to having another REVOLUTION. I truly believe that a revolution is going to happen if they (US government) continue going the way they are. THEY are making too many laws and putting in place too many restrictions on the people. THEY are forgetting too quickly that WE (the people) are suppose to have a say in the way OUR country is run. Enough already on this topic. I am already starting to get worked up. Sorry. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

I wish they would make it an illegal drug, and I smoke! It would be so much easier to quit if you couldn't buy it legally. Look how high the price would get then. Then maybe some of the people that complained about cigarettes would get some of the tax bill the cigarettes smokers were paying!

Yes they would cos we need a *** to help us cope with all the complainers out there who don't like smoking and also that would mean a massive loss in collected taxes and the complainers would still have something to moan about.
Stop moaning and we might stop smoking "boy I need a *** now !"

Ever see the movie Cold Turkey? (Dick Van Dyke, Tom Poston, Bob Newhart)
That's what it would be like.
People yelling at each other, kicking dogs and going bonkers.
Then the dealers would come in and start selling it in baggies on the street.
Taxes would skyrocket on beer and other stuff to make up for the tobacco shortfall or they would have to cut out all adc and welfare.

Society would collapse. In just a few years people would go back to eating raw meat and living in caves. Well the lucky ones would have a cave. Everyone else would just have to find a big tree to live under.

The govt would lose a big chunk of their revenue, forcing other taxes to pick up the slack. The people that smoke would revolt and there would be mass chaos.

First of all the air will be less polluted. People will not need to cough everywhere & leave their sputum all over the place, spreading whatever diseases they've contracted. And who cares about people who need to smoke? Banning it would be doing them a huge favour.
