The other night my husband and I had sexual intercourse and after wards I had a light spotting and then it stopped. So i decided that we wouldn't be having "sex" until we hit the 12 week mark. Then yesterday we were just messing around and I had an orgasim, but there wasn't penetration of anything into my body, but after wards there was a brown discharge kinda like you see at the end of a womans period. I am not having any cramping, but my back has been hurting the last couple of days! I am only 7 weeks along, and I just don't know what to think, please help!

everything is okay, if the blood is brown that means that it is old and there is nothing to worry about unless it turns red.

Oh Sweetie, I am so sorry that this is scaring you. I don't know what I can say to make you feel better. The good thing is that you have not had any cramping and you have not seen any amount of bright red blood. When you are pregnant the cervix is tender and any "bumping" could cause a bit of bleeding like you describe, it is usually nothing to worry about. The brown discharge that you mention was old blood and you saw it because when you have an orgasm there is a flow of secretions from the vagina. Evidently there was just a bit of old blood that got washed out.
Honey, I would hope that all this is just nothing to worry about. The back ache bothers me a bit. If I were you I would call my doctor and just tell him what is going on the way you explained it here. The unfortunate part is that this early in your pregnancy if something is wrong there is very little, if anything that can be done about it. Miscarriages that happen this early are usually the result of some abnormality with the embryo and nothing will change that. Still, I would talk to the doctor and I would not make love again until I had done that. If your doctor wants to see you I think that would be the best thing.
Take care honey and I really hope that this is nothing to worry about and that you go on to have a happy healthy pregnancy!
If you find a moment I would love to know how things turn out for you.
Love and Blessings to you

The brownish blood is just dried up blood that was inside of you and had come out. I had the same thing happen to me with each and every one of my pregnancy's . I am 21 weeks along with my fifth. I had spotting and it was very light and only lasted that day and then a day or so I want to say I got a bit of brown blood. Not very much and it only showed up that one time. As long as your not having bright red blood and there isn't any cramping and you are not passing any blood clots I would say that your fine. I also had 5 miscarriages and what your experiencing doesn't sound like a miscarriage at all. To be quite honest you should refrain from any type of penetration to you hit the 12 week marker. Even orgasms because when you have an orgasm you contract. I know it may be hard to do so but think about the baby. The time will go by and just think of how good it will be after that wait. lol!
Good luck and congratulations

Intercourse will not cause any miscarriage. If you have severe cramping, accompanied by bleeding with big clots - this is a sure sign of miscarrying. Otherwise, light spotting is normal in the pregnancy.

If you are worried, phone your doctor. It is better safe than sorry.

I don't think so. Your body is going though some changes & some spotting is normal. I would only worry if you started to bleed a lot, like a normal period! But it probably would make you feel better if you asked the doctor anyways. Having sexual intercourse with your husdband is healthy, I wouldn't exclued him.

it dont sound like a miscarriage as i've had 3 of them it is just some left over muck that never come out from your last period and if you suffered pains while getting your period you normally do at the start of a pregnancy and i have seven kids and i had sex while pregnant with them and they still here its your first child i take it your just worring over nothing if you was having a miscarriage you would be getting real bad cramps and pains good luck with the new one on the way.

I suggest calling your dr just to get peace of mind. It is very common to spot during the first trimester. Especially during or after intercourse or orgasm. Your back could be hurting because your uterus is expanding and your body is changing so rapidly right now. Even if you can't see the changes on the outside yet.

well from what I know is that brown blood is old blood which is good as far as bleeding goes. You might be having implantation bleeding. This happens to many women at the beginning of their pregnancy.

I would definitely call the dr. but usually they will tell you that as long as you aren't bleeding like a period and/or it is not bright red blood.

Good Luck.
