In the question category, someone asked about Martin Luther King Day. Martin Luther King proved to the world that a man of African descent can be just as literate, civilized, and peaceful as any other race or ethnicity. However, poverty creates conditions that are hard to overcome. In the US we have many people that are black living in poverty. On top of this, they came here completely subjugated, as slaves. While some have achieved middle class or upper class status, our culture as well as theirs tends to discriminate against them still. This engenders hate and violence. Wouldn't you feel frustrated too? You might get made fun of by your friends if you talked too "white". On the other hand you can't get a well paying job because you talk too "black". Your culture looks down upon education and views certain generally accepted facts as false while the mainstream business culture discriminates against you even if you do reject your culture and get a good education. Put yourself in someone else's shoes for a change. How would you react? I'm not saying it's right but it is predictable. Poverty creates an underclass. Black, white, blue, purple - low class is low class. Often the poorest white sections of town have the highest homicide rates. Look into it...

Why do people ask such ignorant questions that are meant to be hurtfull towards one race or another?? It just seems so wasteful of space, energy and time!

And before you judge - I'm not white, black, yellow or any colour - I'm HUMAN - just like everyone else on this earth - and the whole human race is making mistakes in one way or another.

In my experience it is not true.

Depends on what area you live in and the circumstances. Since I don't know what if anything you may have done to antagonize the black folk I don't know why they are violent towards you.

Always be careful of statistics, most people see the percentage and nothing else. Go by percentage and population. Most hate crimes are committed by .................... white folks

I have been in areas where white people have let me know that if I didn't leave, I would be beat up or worse.

You know, those blue men seem to get pretty violent at times. I had to fight off a martian attack just yesterday, yep they were green. I ain't never really seen a black fellow. Lotsa shades of brown though. Know some of African heritage who are lighter than me. Oh by the way, I'm Irish descent, but not white. I'm kinda pinkish brown with freckles!

The only thing "coloured" here is your view of reality!

everybody of every race has some type of aggressive behavior. you see just as many white in prison (if not more) just like blacks. i think everybody should stop separating the blacks from the whites, and trying to signify who is on top. we have black doctors along with white ones. we have black and white lawyers, teachers, military, etc... the people in the world are all the same. all thats different is their color. we are just like crayons. do you not use a blue crayon cuz you don't like the color. i can't believe there is still ignorance in this world.

I don't believe you are trying to be hurtful by your question...but yet it is hurtful. There are wonderful fellow black americans that are hard working and are carving out a right and just life. It is difficult for them when they always have to bear the burden of what a few do. It really is based on what area you live in...and who is on the low end of the social spectrum for that area. People that are without hope feel desperate. Desperate people do desperate things...and color has no bearing on that. Now...there are those in the world who are not working out of desperation...but use their "religious beliefs" to inflict pain, suffering and death on others...thankfully for the most part, it currently is not in America.

Here we go again. I am so sick of people targeting a specific race to pick on. If you are in a predominantly white area, most of the crimes are committed by whites; same with Asian, Muslim, Hispanic, African American, and so on, and so on. I think you are just a racist who is trying to vent. I don't think you will get much support. At least I hope not.

lol no this is a stupid question jeez....iits not race that dicates behavior and violence its environment you dumb moron! if you were a minority oppressed into a society of violence for centuries because you are not whit, then the chances are that you'll resort to the common behaviors within environment you are in. this isnt always true but for the majority it is - minorities are constantly being beaten down into thinking they are incapable of achieving more. if the priviliged citizens like you and i and the retarded power hungry governments lended a hand to them, encouraging them to resort to constructive behavior instead of violence then it wouldnt be an issue. we are all equally responsible . ( btw - thhere was once a time when whites were the most violent and exploited minorities which they still do actuallly - neo nazis, kkk, other racially discriminant groups = very violent) expand your mind for christ sake

This is a truly unpleasant thing to say. However, what you are saying may have some truth in it because 'darker peoples' in western societies tend to be at the bottom end of the socio-enonomic ladder, therefore poverty leads to desperation and a tendency to violence and crime.
But in general people are poeple regardless of race.
