The first dream I had earlier this week was about my elderly next door neighbor (who had actually passed away quite a few years ago). I dreamt that my mother sent me over to see if he was ok because no one had seen him in about a week. I pushed the door open and was hit by a putrid odor (I don't remember if I could actually smell the odor in my dream, but I don't think I did). When I looked over at his rocking chair, he was dead and had been for a while.

I had the other dream last night. It was winter and something traumatic was happening because everyone was frantic, but I can't remember what exactly was happening. I just remember looking down and seeing my best friend lying face down in the snow, surrounded by blood. The only other thing about this dream that I remember is that people kept knocking on my door to give their sympathy, but I was too upset to accept visitors. (Just to make a note, the person who was my best friend in my dream was fictional. He doesn't really exist.)

Just one dream about death is creepy enough for me, but to have two in the same week is scaring me. What does this mean?

Usually dreaming about the death of someone suggests a lacking of a certain aspect or quality in your life that the PERSON in your dream has...smelling a foul odor is something socially unacceptable in your life.... the rocking chair signifies pleasure...could be that there is a certain quality that your neighbor has that you would like, but that you feel is socially not acceptable in your current circle of friends or family...
the second dream could just be from the headlines in all the news about the climbers that were lost? One found dead...the others still missing?
OR it could be tied to your first dream...because snow represents inhibitions or repressed emotions..feeling alone or neglected? Blood is life, love, passion......a "friend" represents aspects of your personality that you have been rejecting, but you are now ready to integrate theses rejected parts of your personality...even IF you feel they are socially "unacceptable".

the old saying is, where there is a death there is a birth, so this is just a sign that maybe a birth is about to happen in your family or a person is going to find out their going to have a baby. or this can be a sign that someone is going to come close to death or is going to die.
this has happened to ME as well and there was a death and my mother passed away.
never the less, don't worry about it and let it be just a dream for now.
Merry Christmas

My grandma always said when you dream of somebody you know dying it means they're going to have good luck. However, since one of the people you dreamt of is already dead and the other is fictional I have no idea what that means! Sorry :(

ive always heard in dreams that a death leads to a birth and a birth in a dream leads to a death in life. and i believe it because i had been having dreams of me having a baby for a couple days and then a week later my aunt died so take it which way u prefer.

Naw, i have dreams about people dieing all the time, sometimes I kill them, soetimes I'm killed. It doesn't mean anything. If they keep up for over a week though, you might be bipolar. I am, and that's how they figured it out.

You are one of the many people who have asked what dreams mean. I don't think that dreams mean anything, and you shouldn't worry about it. Take a look at this website, it helps you interpret your dreams:

I hope it helps!

Go to church (no matter believer or atheist you are, coz there are no churches for atheists) put a burning candle or two, read Pater Noster or Ave Maria 100 times; it’ll help your bleeding soul.
