Comfort food because it harkens back to childhood? Maybe their parents feed them that a lot out of convenience; maybe they associate it with the toys; maybe it was a rare treat. Teens are always hungry so fast food offers immediate gratification because of all the fat, sugar, and salt - and it is fast and cheap. Anyway you look at it, the corporations have all their bases covered!

becuase it is cheap and tasty and usually tastes better than the crap our parents make us eat at home or in our dorm cafeterias
also we tend to buy cheap food because as soon as we get a job and make measly amounts of money per week our parents expect us to buy all of our food ourselves all of the sudden and don't cook for us anymore
forgive me, I'm a tad bitter

They were inticed into it as a child with the Happy Meal boxes with the toys. You would have to blame the parents for allowing it or starting it to begin with.
