Well, if you were in the US, I would advise you to visit the website of the Fully Informed Jury Association, www.fija.org and become well versed in all that it tells you. Then when you get to court and are being questioned about your fitness for service, mention that you have done so. I can virtually guarantee that you will never be selected to sit. I can't guarantee it will work in Britain, tho.

i understand precisely the form you experience. I even have been summoned to jury duty countless situations, and that i continually tell them the comparable element - i don't experience that i'm able to decide somebody else. To many situations you study some detrimental soul that develop into put in reformatory for some thing they in no way did, and years later, from dna testing, discover out he's harmless in spite of everything. on the different hand, if somebody is in charge and jury says he isn't, then you've a offender working around. i does not opt to be on a jury. i think sorry for you, yet it quite is purely the way it could bypass down with me. i could purely would desire to tell them that i could no longer make a dicision. Sorry i can't be of greater help. sturdy success to you whichever way you will desire to settle on. I pray which you're making the wonderful determination

Become a Peer of the realm. Get imprisoned during the required period of service. Catch a highly contagious and registered comunicable illness (like plague). Be made backkrupt. Don't try the Tee Shirt idea, it's been tried before and didn't work. It just cost the individual a large fine for, you guessed it, contempt. Try writing to the court and explaining your situation. They might even be sympathetic. That has worked before.

I can't help but wonder how you would feel if you were accused of a crime, selected your right to a jury and then had people trying to use lame excuses to get out of their civic duty.

You don't get out of it, you just do it. Jury duty is pretty much the only service your country will ask of you. And don't bugger about in selection either, or you will be found in contempt.

I was called when I was about eight and a half months pregnant - I had a letter from my doctor, but basically I just had to be seen to be refused!
Sorry, I know that this isn't very helpful at this point.

Why do you need to get out of it.
It is one of the great honors to be able to help judge someone and serve your court system.
You should be proud that you were selected.

Just give them answers they don't want.
eg. " what do you think of the police service"
" I think they are useless"
" have you ever been in trouble with the law"
" I got nailed with some marijuana cigarettes, does that count?"
You will be excused.
