"The disadvantaged" refers to people without power, money, or other means of influence. Disadvantaged people can absolutely be empowered. There is a solution. Most disadvantaged people come from generations of poverty, so a good education and mentoring by people who really care, would definately help the disadvantaged. Programs that provide food, shelter, healthcare, tutoring, and spiritual counsel, would be a great advantage, as well.

Disadvantaged people can fall into a number of categories. People can be economically disadvantaged meaning that they are near or below the poverty line. They do no have all the advantages that for example a middle class person would because they are unable to financially afford them. There are people that lack education who are at a disadvantage. These people usually but not always fall into the economically disadvantaged area as well. There are people who are socially disadvantaged. This is generally because of reasons pertaining to race or sexual orientation. They may be looked down on by the majority of society due to their difference.

new orleans is (sadly) the perfect example of what a disadvantaged people look like. how to empower them depends on your field of expertise, for exmaple if you are a teacher in education you could help some to read, write and do many other things. if you work in law then you would be able to help them in many areas also, if you work in counselling then you work on a means to help them get through the emotional trauma they have suffered, there are plenty of places where one could go to help others who have no food, no medical supplies and no other means to better their lives.

it is actually sad hey! where i come from there r lots of disadvantaged people & there r alot of causes for that as well!! not having a proper home! having more children that u can handle as well as children that r homeless its all very sad & wats even worst things like drugs & alcohol just add to that! this is sumthing that the world would not be able to control & as far i i seen from my side is that if you urself dont try to change ur life it wil neva change

No one is disadvantaged. This is the land of opportunity. You can have anything you want and be anything you want just by working hard and taking advantage of the opportunities that are abundant. Throwing money at laziness never solves anything.

Poor or uneducated people. They can be empowered by giving them the tools to become successful. It is up to them to utilize them.
