All good Mums go to Iceland, actually.

From personal experience.

Waitrose - Yeah right! Aimed at well to do types with huge mortgages and pedigree dogs.

Asda - Pretty cheap if you have a car, otherwise you end up spending what you've saved on the shopping on a cab.

Tesco - Probably the cheapest one out of the ones you initially mentioned, but our local one never has anything I need when i need it.

Sainsburys - Not the cheapest, but the best out of the options. They've always got everything and they're only 5 minutes walk away from my house.

We do have an Iceland that's 10 minutes away in the bus, but it's quite small, so not particularly useful. Anyway, that's all just my opinion.

to all y'all that thing there's a difference between walmart & asda: they're owned by the same people!!

asda is the cheapest by far.

tesco is the most expensive.

but they're all not that great for the economy (even sainsbury's) 'cos they take all the money that we shop with and don't spend any of it on the economy. I think there should be extra tax for them or sumthin' or we should get rid of them all together and have shops that duplicate their sources and their services but with the money spent on urban development.

i think asda is cheapest, i dont shop there though because we havent got one in my town, i have to travel to get there (about 4 times a year), tesco is quite good value, waitrose is just an expensive rip off and icelands food taste like cardboard, its too cheap and too nasty

Ice land but not much variety, Asda has got to be the cheapest with a good selection.

All of those. I live in Spain and the English supermarkets here are a real rip off. I paid 23euros (approx £19) for a tin of Quality Street. And F O R G E T 'Buy 1 get 1 free'. Over here it is 'Pay for 3, just get 1. ! ! ! ! Well that's the down side of living here. Merry Christmas.

Morrison's is the cheapest supermarket in Britain but you need too use your brains as they have buy 2 get 1 free offers on and change some every week they even tell you on the bottom of you receipt how much you have save for instance my best total saving is £22.13 on a total spend of £75 the quality is good and they have a good mix of products get on it!!!
