Henry VIII did not divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragon (with whom he had one child, Mary), rather he had his marriage annulled. This annulment, which the Catholic Church was loathe to grant, severed the English Church from the Roman Catholic Church and established Henry as the supreme head of the Church in England. The annulment from Catherine of Aragon allowed Henry to marry Anne Boleyn, ostensibly with the primary hope of bearing a male heir, but Henry had also been infatuated and had pursued Anne for years. Anne reigned as Queen for approximately 3 years, in which time she bore the future Queen of England, Elizabeth I. Anne's failure to produce a male heir sealed her fate, and Henry had her executed for witchcraft and treason in 1536 (with a nice, sharp French sword, she was not burned at the stake!). Henry next married Jane Seymour, who died 1n 1537giving birth to the short lived Edward the VI. Next came Anne of Cleves, whom Henry "didn't like", their 7 month marriage was annulled in 1540. The young, pretty and vivacious Catherine Howard followed, but she was indiscreet about her "unchaste" past, and so, since adultery against the King was treason, she was beheaded two years into their marriage. Henry's last wife was Catherine Parr, and she, happily, outlived Henry. And so ends the story of the six wives of Henry VIII.

He dealt with them like a chattel and have been given rid of them whilst they now no longer served any purpose for him. He particularly observed them as toddler making machines and in the event that they produced the incorrect gender then needless to say the mum replaced into at fault and so she had to be bumped off to make way for the subsequent spouse. i do no longer think of Henry replaced into extra beneficial than happy as he had to marry his brothers spouse and it type of went downhill from there. One spouse controlled to offer a son yet he replaced into sickly and on the same time as he lived longer than Henry VIII he died at a youthful age. i think of Henrys treatment of females impacted his daughter Elizabeth I as she in no way married and who can blame her after what she observed take place with the different better halves.
