Originally, the word "charisma" means "gift" and refers to the "cloven tongue" given to those who speak for the one true God, YHVH whereby their speech is heard by all present in the language and dialect of their home towns and is evidence for the presence of the Holy Spirit speaking through them.
Much later it refers to the ability to develop or inspire in others an ideological commitment to a particular point of view. Charismatic persons are those who can influence others through mechanisms of motivation via interpersonal relations -- speech and actions as well as interactions with others.

It comes and goes with the flow of you being on either side of the Mirror. You know your Dark Side, and you know where to put your mind.....You can dress and make up blindfolded, because you are you.... Lesser days, Will let you snarl at partner, friends and kin... So they will know... She closed the Sweetness Tap.... Nobody knows my identity, but everybody in my Town can point me out in a crowd.... Together with my Partner, People even stop and Stare.... very embarrassing, in our case, because we both had our share of trouble caused by ignorant Netherlands and U.S., believing we might disrupt daily life. People will sometimes utter words as "Living Book" when we Walk by... One other friend will explain:"Mother Earths Healers." Miracleworx and I share Collective Dreams on a Higher Level, than our position in society expresses... There's enough coming out of Hollywood to know that adventures:" Karma and Charisma sometimes go sour in a Person.... Stars on Rampage etc..... Not my cup of tea..... Soft light, nice friends, season of inner warmth, and good foods, good wines, and sharing good thoughts.... And do that All the Year Around.... Gives you more Charisma in your Nutshell.... eh Daily Life

The word charisma (from the Greek word ÏάÏιÏμα (kharisma), "gift" or "divine favor," from kharizesthai, "to favor," from kharis, "favor") refers to a rare trait found in certain human personalities usually including extreme charm and a "magnetic" quality of personality and/or appearance along with innate and powerfully sophisticated personal communicability and persuasiveness; in short, charisma is often used to describe a seemingly uncanny ability to charm or influence people. It refers especially to a quality in certain people who easily draw the attention and admiration (or even hatred if the charisma is negative) of others due to a "magnetic" quality of personality and/or appearance.

The ability to affect others by your actions/looks/words.
This can either be positive or negative.
There are some people who are butt ugly, but they have something about them that draws you to them.
The reverse is also true, someone as dumb as a stick, but something about their looks is irresistible.
