Well think about it. Socks are forced everyday to be encased in those awful smelly things. They are used all day by the shoes and then when the day is over they are then forced to endure a toss to the floor where the dog drags them all over the house. Then a few days later some tall person picks them up and throws them into a sloshing water machine to endure another round of back and forth then a spinning you can't stand. Then it is off into a fiery inferno to endure. After all of that the sock puppet is forced to mate w/another sock he has never met. I would be tearing at the shoes too.
