No matter what people say, do, money and fame and fortune seem to be the only things that matter. We rear our kids to be sucessful, we kill ourselves to pay for that new car, we'll ravage our bodies and souls to be models or actors/actresses. We will walk with the devil (figuratively) to get what we want. Yet, in the end, the question that is puzzling me, is why? What makes a piece of paper or a nice car better than happiness? I hear it all the time, if I had a million dollars, but why? If you had a million dollars are you better than me? Do you feel better? If you are a celebrity are you better? I know the answer, I pose the question because the other day I saw a man in a Bentley pass someone by who was asking for a handout, he smirked, told him to get a job, then drove away while speaking on his cell. Is this the world we live in? Money and fame or nothing..... sad isn't it.

very sad, I have tried to instill in my children the idea that you need to survive by not by crushing someone else to get there; the good path always always win out in the end; I always say to people , my boss included, when you are on your death bed you are not going to care about how much money you have in the bank, nor your title, etc; you are going to wish for more time, more love, things that you should have done ; and things that you should have said to your love ones that you didn't ; it isn't a popular idea but it is the thread of life; you can't worship two masters

Not all people do so. Majority of people in the so-called developing world do care about people then about money and fame. The reason is because they do not have the money and hardly can make money in large quantity. In the developed world, on the other hand, mos people there DO care about money and fame in that order. Because money, there, is the key for almost everything. They can and DO make money as if its a religion!

we have taught our children and society places so much importants on success, by the way it's called Capitalism, the more you get the better you will live and be respected. It's are values. It the world we have made. By instilling those values in our Children, when you Measure a Man by his worth then this what you Get. People that don't care about their fellow man we are to self obsorbed.
