It is called WWE because the E stands for Entertainment it is a show after all but some times things do go wrong. The blood that comes out of the mouth for the most part is fake, some is real. When it comes from the nose, they are accidents, when from the head some are accidents but there is a show out that some wrestler made that states the one from the heads are made from little pieces of razor blades that they have tucked in their tape around their wrist, fingers, or in their pads. Also they really do get messed up when things do go wrong.

Apache is correct... that's why they call it a "blade job".

Most of the time, all of the blood and allegedly serious injuries (they bring out a stretcher, "EMT"s, use the neck brace, backboard, etc) are all part of the show. But, accidents do happen.

Sometimes wrestlers get serious injuries and they can't go on or continue, or they keep going if they can. The referee is right there, and they have a special signal with the people in back to let them know if something serious happened, and to send the actual medical staff to the ring. (I know at one point fans started to pick up on a sign- the ref crossing his forearms in an "X"... so in order to keep the fans guessing they went to a different sign, and would do the "X" to really get the fans worked on a "story" injury".

Just this month at the Armaggedon PPV Jeff didn't jump on the ladder at exactly the right spot, and when the "teeter totter" effect happened, Joey actually took the ladder to the face... severe head injury, lacerations, eye was swollen shut, 20 stitches, and he's going to have to have reconstructive surgery and be checked for brain damage.

Any of the answers about blood being ketchup or other liquids is absolute bovine feces. Blood is real. Wrstlers do use razor blades to cut themselves. But a ssomeelse wrote sometimes the "weapons" that get used do some damage.
Also the ones whao said chair shots ecta. are "fake" are full of it as well. There is no way to "fake" a chair shot. Yes, there are ways to protect the one on the receiving end, no, there is no such thing as a "fake chair" But they are definately real.
Yes, Pro wrestling is choreographed, and predetermined, bt it is not "fake"

ALL professional wrestling is fake, I mean, seriously, do you think they actually get hit with metal chairs and stand right back up? I'm pretty sure they use ketchup or some other red liquid for the blood and smear it on their faces and stuff.

if you look close at some the older wrestlers you cane see the scars. is an old trick that i was told by a pro. see the blood and sweat mixes and looks worse than it really is.

Being a ex wrestler myself, I can tell you that the blood is very real. The way it comes about may be fake, but the blood is very real.
