owing to ill health i had to take a gap in my engineering & finished it subsequently.but it took me 8 years to finish a 4 year course. good communication skills in english , a above average mental aptitude & a basic understanding of software languages like C, java & SQL are my plusses.
i also have a fluent english accent.
please suggest a career where i can put my skills to the best possible use.

Why don't you try writing IELTS and go to australia.. They have good courses in engineering. YOu can do various masters courses in engineering.... Since you have a control over the english language you may pass this exam with good marks... Work smart and work hard you will succeed. it took me 5 years before i left polytechnic for a 3 year course in engineering.

i also have health problems.

the best is you have a good rest for a few months or more before you start looking for a job.

health is vital.

nurse your health gradually until when you are ready to find a fulltime job.

else, look for a part-time job or a job which you can do at home example programming.

you seem to have good credentials. try for a job in the corporate sector and then pursue a part-time program in management in some local institute of repute. engineering and management qualifications generally provide good career options and prompt promotion opportunities. However, education in a good US university would also be a good option but time seems to be a constraint in your case.
