Lou Gehrig: HOF

2,130 Straight Games
23 Career Grand Slams
.361 Post season batting average
Ted Williams: HOF
2 -Time Triple Crown Winner 1942/47
Batted .406 in 1941
Was considered the hardest out in baseball at one point.
( You were better off giving him a single or double than trying to strike him out. )
Sandy Koufax: HOF
3 Cy Young's
Went 97-27 over a 4 year period with a era of 1.84
2 - Time Pitching Triple Crown Winner
Posted a 0.95 post season era over 4 World Series
Who better to lead this group than unorthodoxed genius himself Casey Stengel.
( For all that said Babe Ruth. He was great yes. But was as unmanageable as we was great. A wild man with a good heart. )

Josh Gibson was one of the most powerful and amazing players in history. Unfortunately he never got a chance to prove it. He could hit the ball a mile and had a rifle arm as a catcher so he has to be one of my picks.
Babe Ruth is widely believed to be the greatest baseball player of all time with a lifetime slugging average of .690 still the best of all time. He could also hit the ball a mile, hit 714 homers with a .342 average so he has got to be one of my picks.
Mickey Mantle. Nobody had more power than the Mick who nearly hit one completely out of Yankee Stadium. Before injuries, he could run like a rabbitt getting to first base in 3.1 seconds. He was the complete package as a baseball player.
Sparky Anderson would be my manager because of his great personality and handling of players. I believe that anybody would have loved playing for him.

Babe Ruth obviously. He was basically the first power hitter in baseball and helped tag baseball as America's Pastime. We pretty much know he did not use staroids and his records are clean.
Albert Pujols - Probably the best hitter in baseball today. Average, power, OBP%. He can take over a game better than Barry Bonds. Maybe better than Bonds ever did. If he stays healthy he could go down as one of the best players of all-time.
Nolan Ryan - A dominant pitcher with an electric fastball who froze hitters in the batter's box with that fastball. If you wan't strikeouts, here's your guy.

That's easy. Babe Ruth in right field, Lou Gehrig at first and Christy Mathewson as the number one pitcher. I could fill in a whole 25 man roster from that part of the century and beat any other 25 man roster from any other era. I'd go with Stengel as manager.
