I've always had pleasant holiday experiences, so for me, even with the hassle (mostly money) it's still my favorite time of the year. I understand why some people feel it's overrated (especially if they get sucky gifts each year) but I wonder when was the last time they had a really wonderful christmas?

Valentine's day is kind of the same way: being in love makes it special, not being in love makes it feel overrated and commercial.

it is christmas time, what would you expect? this is a 1500 year old tradition in the west. and a very popular capitalist holiday in america and many parts of europe. since half the retail sales in america happen around this time christmas is not going anywhere soon.

here's an idea, get into the spirit of it. stay drunk. it will all be over soon. and everybody will be more concerned with paying off all the debts they incured.
