I am a 17 year old female, and my boyfriend is thin but athletic. I made a bet to a friend that he could pass as a REAL girl at the next Halloween and i want to get a early start. I have to dress him up as a girl of less that 18 years old! I need advice and help! The bet is HUGE and I don't want to loose! I don't know what to do.

He is cool with it because he gets half the money!!
he is prepared to do alot! this should be fun help me

The thing you want to avoid is going over the top with anything. He'll come off looking like a drag queen instead of a real girl.

For starters, make sure he shaves closely, assuming he has to shave. Smooth out his skin with foundation like you would any regular girl. Using a shade of powder slightly darker than his skin tone on a blush brush and sweeping it from the neck up towards his jaw will soften the jawline-just be sure not to leave any lines (slightly circular motions work best, and don't start far down). This can also be used under the cheekbones if he has a rounder face. Have him suck in his cheeks, then using the same technique, shade in where the natural shadow falls. If he has strong cheekbones by girl standards, apply a blush close to the natural color that appears when you pinch his cheeks onto the apples of his cheeks and blend upward and sideways.

Use natural-to-pink shades of eyeshadow (again, apply this like you would your own, or lighter, keeping the color on the lids. Going up to the browbone will make him look like a drag queen.) and a lip gloss without too much color.

Basically, use the same techniques you would if you were doing another girl's makeup. Play up his girlier features and play down his manlier ones. I hope you win! =D

(-: Are you sure you'll be together next Halloween? Oh well. If you are getting an early start, then you can coach him on mannerisms and acting like a girl. It might be really cute if you pull a Victor/Victoria thing, and dress him up like a boy -- but a boy who is really a girl! Of course, he'll be a boy pretending to be a girl, pretending to be a boy -- oh, my head is starting to hurt. But if the two of you can pull it off, you'll be a great costume designer/coach, and he'll be a great actor! Be sure and get it on video tape!

I would say just don't go over the top with anything. Subtle breasts, not Victoria Secrets' model breasts. Just a touch of make-up, and be sure he is smooth, smooth, smooth when he shaves. And be sure to get him shoes that fit, if you are going the girl route (or get girl shoes that look mannish, if you are doing Victor/Victoria).

There are a lot of movies that cover this theme too, so it might be fun to look at them. The Crying Game springs to mind. I think Some Like It Hot has some transvestite stuff. (It's a Marilyn Monroe film, at any rate). Oh, and don't forget Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie! And of course, Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria.

Good luck and it sounds like a lot of fun!
