the children of Israel have been given much and have had much expected of them I would say.

The passage you are quoting from comes from the Bible, and it refers to faith. The more faith you have, the more will be given to you, to those who have little, if the l.ittle they have is not nurtured, even that will be taken away by focusing on it.

I think it is a non issue, what have the "children of israel" been given? Your question has a biblical tone to it, as though there was actually a God directing the affairs of men. You might better frame it, using Paris Hilton instead of Israel. She has been given a great eal, but we really don't expect much from her at all...
