when it comes to riding on the street , of all the motorcycles ive had. the enduros were just far superior in heavily congested areas of the bay area. if i take a dirt bike and put a kit on it, you know the blinkers mirrors and stuff can i regester it with DMV? the reason for this is obvious if like to ride. light weight equals more time in the seat and i could go just about anywere.

I believe you just need to make sure it has the proper lights, liscense and registration. You also need to be sure your drivers liscense has the proper motorcycle endorsement for your state.

Your DMV online probably has the answers you need.

It's possible, but depends on what bike you have. California started to deny a change in status on Feb 1, 2004. There are a few bikes that can be changed, and all have a sticker on the frame that says the bike conforms to road use. Typically "Green Sticker" bikes are the ones that can make it through. I haven't found a complete list of bikes that make the cut though, sorry. But if you DO have a green sticker bike, then you'll need to add at least the minimimum to become street legal.

• 1. Headlight
• 2. Taillight with brakelight
• 3. Brakelight switch
• 4. Mirror (usually left side)
• 5. Horn

And CA may require more.

you would have to check with the dmv - but you are able to make a dirt bike street legal I think you need to do something with the tires as well as the blinkers and mirror. Good Luck - hope you get great gas milage. Be careful and wear a helmet.

equipment required: high/low beam headlight visible for at least 1000', front and rear turn signals, rear tail light that also lights up when either front or rear brake is applied; also has to be visible for at least 1000', street legal muffler, license plate and lic plate holder, right/left mirrors, horn, and a speedometer would be adviseable.

usually, the highway patrol will certify it street legal if it passes inspection. after it's cleared inspection, u'll need to get a title for it, and registration/license plate. u also need to have a motorcycle license or at the very least, mc permit, before u can legally ride any bike on the street.

all these answers are correct but the DMV will require a Medal fuel tank. If it is plastic and not direct from the dealership they will make you replace with a medal baja style gas tank.

if you bike is red sticker...your screwed... must be green sticker and have..

horn
one mirror
glass headlight
medal fuel tank
all terrain tires
turn signals if riding at night....

the dmv can revoke the on road lic for any of these not changed.

You can do it, but the DMV will require an inspection to make sure everything meets their standards.

You may have a problem mounting a tail light to the plastic fender, and mounting it so it is aimed correctly.

Also, the muffler will have to be a spark arrestor type.

They MAY not allow knobby tires, I'm not sure on that one.

That's about all that comes to mind......

I don't think these things are authorized for street use. Better check with your local authorities, before you get into some trouble.
