They say that you're a run-around lover
Though you say it isn't so
But if you put me down for another I'll know, believe me, I'll know
"The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" is a song composed by Jerry Brainin and Buddy Bernier for the 1948 film Night Has a Thousand Eyes.
It has been performed by John Coltrane, amongst others, in a version that alternates a Latin rhythm with a swing section in the bridge.
Bobby Vee (Robert Thomas Velline) had the most popular recording of it in 1963.
The Carpenters also did a recording of it.

The Bobby bit sounds right. Maybe Bobby Vee. the guy was quite short and died either this or last year ( she says crossing her fingers that she hasn't willed the wrong person into an early grave).
The man I am thinking about also sang 24 hours from Tulsa.
Now I am even less sure. Don't know why I even started trying to answer this one!!
Too late now, I have committed!
