I would advise that you seek medical attention as a cut that big could be serious the doctor may just rinse it and put a plaster on it but you can never be too careful, if you lost a lot of blood then drink plenty of fluids as this will help reduce shock also try to put a tight bandage/ plaster on it to stop any more blood loss. This is the advice i give as it is what i done when it happend to me, I was given antibiotics to fight of infect but my finger is fine now, and it healed quite quickly.
Good luck.

No
but do remember to separate the half inch of finger from the rest of the veg,as this may need a slightly longer cooking time

Hell, if you can still type it can't be all that bad!
Seriously though, half an inch is a huge amount... on my paws that's nearly to the first joint! Get to the doc's, man, the blood loss is obviously making you delirious! And take the amputated bit with you, the medical profession can do wonders these days!!!
Merry Xmas, hope your hand (and your veggies!) aren't ruined ; )

Yes u do asap really. When you cut this amount off your finger sometimes you also damage the nerves in the finger, which needs looking at asap,as this can stop the circulation and if this happens you can loose the finger. So get medical advice asap.Good Luck and merry christmas x

Why are you even typing this question? Get it seen to right away. If you've cut off that much, it's a very deep cut, and runs the risk of going sceptic or even gangrenous! You could lose your finger if it gets infected!

You can still type can't you - I think you'll be OK.
If you are loosing a lot of blood and starting to feel faint - that's got to be a good thing hasn't it!

Are you using voice recognition software to type? If so, can you recommend it to me? My Dragon Dictate sucks!
