Aptitude. Aptitude and intelligence quotient are related, and in some ways opposite, views of human mental ability. Whereas intelligence quotient sees intelligence as being a single measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, aptitude breaks mental ability down into many different characteristics which are supposed to be more or less independent of each other.

I'm guessing that you are referring to Adversity Quotient. Of course, all of these (IQ, EQ, AQ) are "invented" concepts - they are based on theory. IQ theory has been around for a long time, but there have been changes in the way IQ is assessed. EQ theory is newer and AQ seems to be the newest kid on the block.
