I have had an ultrasound as well because I thought I was having signs of a miscarriage. I went in recently and they also told me I would have to wait. My doctor assured me that it is common to not make out the baby or for it to be visable at all. I know it is hard but keep in mind that everything is all right and if it turns out not to be deal with it then. God Bless

Even though we will tell you not to worry you still will because this is your baby and your a mom to be. I had that happen to me 5 months ago. I had taken a pregnancy test and it came out positive so I went to the Dr. and he said that I felt about 3 months along by doing the internal exam. He said since I was that far along we would be able to hear the heartbeat today. He got out his doppler and didn't hear anything. He told me that he wanted me to go and get an ultrasound. When I got it done the sonographer brought in the Dr. and he asked if I was sure that I was even pregnant because they didn't see anything not even a yolk sac. I had to wait another 2 weeks and that was torture. I went in two weeks later and they saw the yolk sac and a little dot that was the baby. I was only 8 weeks at the time of test and they said that the reason they didn't see anything last time was because I was only 5.5 to 6 weeks along .I wouldn't worry about only seeing the yolk sac. that is ls normal. Just think in a few months you'll be able to go in and have another ultrasound and be able to see the whole baby. Your fine and right on track. Good luck with your pregnancy and Congratulations.

Not this exact situation... But, I had a little trouble with my first pregnancy and when they did an early ultrasound all we could see was a little kite. Lol. A little ball on a string. I think I was a little further along than 7 weeks though. Please don't worry, I'm sure everything is fine. It does take a while before a baby is really distinguishable in an ultrasound. And my doctor always told me that the size of the baby can be up to two weeks bigger than your due date or two weeks smaller than your due date. So, if he looks about 6 weeks at 7 weeks you should still be ok.

I was confused by my first ultrasound as well. My doctor told me that a sperm cell can live inside a female body for about five days before it dies, which means the day you had sex may not actually be your conception date. Also, ultrasounds are fairly accurate but very dependent on the skills of the person operating the machine. There is always a possibility that you may have a problem, but that possibility exists no matter what. Try to relax and don't stress yourself out over it. You'll find out soon.

The ultrasounds today are pretty accurate...you might be off a little! Do not worry about this!!! I'm sure the baby is fine and most ultrasounds are not done until 9 weeks! So hang in there and do a hobby to keep your mind off the situation!

Yes, please don't stress about it. I know its hard but the stress can cause you more to have a miscarriage when your baby is probably fine!
What you just described happened to me exactly. My doctor couldnt find anything on her ultrascan and I had to wait a few more days to have a ultrascan. My baby was fine although just smaller than they expected and they didnt believe I had my dates accurate (although I KNOW i did).
Ask to have a more accurate scan, and wait until then. But do go back to the doctor if you experience any bleeding or pain.
Good luck, i hope everything works well for you! Dont stress to much, relax and try some meditation and positive thoughts about you and your baby.

I haven't had this experience, but had talked to plenty of expectant mothers when I was pregnant who went through what you are going through.
I hope that everything will be okay. Good luck.
