reflex actions by their very nature are involuntary and involve a reflex arc that travels rapidly from the sensory neurones to the spinal cord and back again via the axons eg removing hand from burning stove or when u jump out ure skin. A split second later the information reaches the brain where it is processed and u feel the pain!

BREATHING ISNT A BLOODY REFLEX ACTION!!!!!!! A reflex is described as a reaction to stimulus. An involuntary reflex action is when the docs hit your joints and they straighten. They aim to hit the ligaments in the joint

reflex action to pain, or to danger, etc. these are probably the most basic reflex action. the body responses to this stimulus by withdrawing or other defense mechanism. danger is probably the more primate stimulus since danger=pain.
withdrawing your hand to pain/hot stimulus, blinking (defense mech to protect your eyes), evasive movement when threatened are to name a few.

Breathing, however some animals have conscious breathing. I watched a program last night that said dolphins make the decision to breath so they never really sleep. If they become unconscious then can die.
