Stop poncing about pretending to be an important world leader.

Governments don't do anything for any country!
Being in government means:
- feeling important,
- earning huge amounts of money on the back of real workers,
- giving away 100 $,£,€ and showing it off,
- taking back 500 $,£,€ and hiding it,
- keeping meetings and assemblies for days and calling it working,
- making new laws to keep people busy and under control,
- levelling education by the bottom to keep people ignorant, gullible and obedient,
- planning for the next election...
Should I continue?
So...
- I would throw away the book of silly laws and make a simple one: do what you want, don't hurt or constrain the others.
- Eliminate the majority of civil servants, keeping just the real requirements,
- Make education (including philosophy) a priority, and FREE.
- Create a good research and manufacturing base, giving full employment,
- Make global services (electricity, gas, water, health care) part of government, non-profit making (no private there),
- Cancel hand-overs (if you want money, you work - full stop).
- Withdraw ALL military forces from any country that is not ours (we have nothing to do there),
- Use the military to help countries in need (famins, water, disasters and so on), UNARMED,
- Run the country with the help of successful BUSINESSMEN (Not windbags politicians),
- Improve our independance on external supplies by developing new ressources,

Then, withdraw after a while with a good financial reserve... :-))

I would legalize prostitution in gov't regulated brothels, its time the world's oldest profession contributes to income tax.

Issue a 10 year tax exemption to all Universities and Colleges, this way they would have more money.

Higher an independent private consulting firm to evaluate government efficiency in appropriately spending tax dollars. Sell off all unrequired assets.

Make it law that every MP is accountable for their spending, any spending that is determined excess or not government relate the MP will have pay back the government with interest.

Reduce MP salaries by 10% and eliminate governments ability to give it self a raise.

Technically prime ministers can serve until parliament is recalled, which can be pretty much any length of time. Usually it's about 5 years though.

Education - I would scrap GCSE's and A-levels and bring in the European style baccalaureat, with the exception that you can get more choice in the subjects you choose to take. Because you have to complete it up to A-level school leaving age will be raised to 18, with the possibility at 16 to do a 'half' degree, and change to do a skills based course (like plumbing) until 18.

Crime - 1) Build enough prisons to have the same amount of space we had in the 90's - this is just to relieve preassure so we get some room to breathe to bring in reforms. 2) Non-serious criminals (pickpockets, vandals etc) will get a 'strike' system. If they commit 4 low level offences they get what the serious criminals get - a long prison sentance. In addition to the education programs that prisons have I would bring back hard labour - prison IS supposed to be punishment as well as rehabilitation. Very serious criminals (serial rapists, murderers etc) would get a _LIFE_ sentance.

Tax - Tax the rich more and the poor less, they can afford to pay. Council tax will be scrapped, and replaced with local income tax.

Transport - Those who drive the most polluting cars get 5 times the road tax (on top of road tax) as environmental tax, those who drive carbon neutral cars just get 75% road tax. The railways will be re-nationalised, they might be expensive, but look at the state they're in now. There will be a 100% increase on airport tax as environmental tax for plane journeys.

Foreign policy - Trident will be scrapped. It's too expensive and we don't need nuclear weapons to fight our 'biggest threat', terrorists. Plus it sets a good example. We will keep a small stockpile of nuclear weapon assembly plants - just in case. We will withdraw from Iraq immediately. We will embargo Israel until they pull down their illegal wall in Palestine - we did the same for South Africa when they seperated their country on race grounds in the 80's.

Environment policy - Set up an IMMEDIATE building program of sustainable energy, a tidal generator on the Severn for instance, and thousands of off-shore wind farms. The goal will be by 2015 to have reduced by 75% our reliance on fossil fuels - this will be binding for WHOEVER is in government. Give tax breaks for environmentally friendly companies - and huge taxes on those who pollute the most.

And finally - upon the death of Thatcher to build a dance-floor on her grave. I'm sure it will come in handy...

One of my main priorities would be better education. Children should be educated on life skills (money budgeting)
Also there should be a clear emphasis on working towards a Job/career and much better work advice in schools. While I was at school there was too much focus on getting qualifications and next to no help on what to do with them.
Also sex education is failing terribley I do not just blame schools or parents I knew alot of kids my age who had good homes went to good schools but still through their own actions ended up pregnant or getting STDs. Children need to learn alot more about the risks of sex (STD's).
Underage drinking & smoking etc needs to be stoped. All shops should request ID for pretty much everyone (unless its very clear they are above the legal age) if any shop is caught selling to any one underage they will receive a heavy fine.
I think that the sentances people receive for child abuse (pedophilles) and rape etc is too low the law would be alot tougher
I think more needs to be done for the enviorment get everyone recycling (including large companies and shops) but make it easy for them to do so by having collections etc. More use of renewable energy etc.

For a start I would begin by actually looking at what is going off, Not pages and pages of Statistics, but in real life. The forgotten class would be my priority at first, those of us, who work hard, have always worked, but never seem to get anywhere, when what we earn goes straight back out, I would look at ways to improve there life styles and make things easier, as these forgotten classes not only keep the country going, but actually work for it, and all they get is sh*t from current government. Next start tackeling the poverty problems, those that really need help, forget blowing up Irac, and starting wars lets deal with our own in house problems, listen to what the people need and give them back there pride and sence of self belief.... Make Britian a place worth living in again, not this pit it has become.

Bring the troops home from Iraq
Cancel Trident (which we can't use without US say-so anyway, so what's the point ?)
Examine carefully all diplomatic agreements with the US, and cancel all that do not benefit us.
Join the Euro - it is more successful than the US$ and will stand us in good stead against the rouble, the renmimbi(Chinese currency I think ?) the rupee etc. which will be far mightier in the 21st century.
Tax cars per mile, tax petrol more and definitely tax aircraft fuel (not taxed at all at present - a scandal)

Then, after lunch....

I'm a woman, therefore that would have a great impact. My main #1 goal would be to address Global Warming, I'd not come out with flimsy goals as they are doing now. I'd get on the backs of big corporations and make them address the issue of poluting the air. It would mean a major change in our society because we do depend on these big corporations to be leaders in the industry, yet, they have to address the issue NOW. I live in the middle of the Province of Ontario and Xmas is just days away and we have NO snow. A real warming trend that i've never ever seen before in the north. If this destruction continues there won't be a need for a Prime Minister.
Foreign Policy: I'd not allow Israel to continue it's massacre of the Palestinian people and I'd make them disarm from their nuclear weapons that they so blatantly flaunted and I'd be against the US for selling them arms of war. I'd separate myself from American war policies and make our country stand on their own codes of ethics, i'd certainly not be holding hands with the Bush administration as the Harper Government seems to be doing at this time. Canada used to be known as a peacekeeping nation.
Health: I'd be addressing health care abusers, a woman in Thunder Bay received a letter that confirmed she had an operation yet, it wasn't her, she tried to get someone into action, all she was told it takes time, these health card abusers are people who are putting our health care in jeopardy.
I'd be for the middle class people, we are what makes this country. I'd not tolerate big corporations complaints that they're going under because of governmental policies or being taxed too high, gosh we allowed this big corporation to grow because of our purchases of products and service, yet they're so money hungry.

Law - Rip up the Human Rights Act - Bring back Capital Punishment for Killers, rapists, child abusers, killers & peados. Abolish the 'serve the 50% of your sentence rule' and make criminals serve the full term. Life = Life. Remove all priveleges, plasmas, play stations and computers from every cell and make criminals serve their punishment with hard labour. After all being sent to prison shouldn't be a holiday camp.

Close the Borders - round up all the illegals, failed asylum seekers and deport them!

Education - Go back to bascis and return the power of running the schools back to the heads.

NHS - Chase up every health tourist for healths costs and ebsure that they pay up or are extradited to the UK and prisoned.

Abolish the council tax and ensure that the benefits system is a safety net and NOT the sole purpose of financing your lifestyle. All current incapacity benefit cliamants to be re-assessed by a doctor or doctors chosen by me.

All cars, properties seized from criminals to be sold off and this money with any that is also seized to be used to help victims of crime.

Deport all preachers of hate to their mother country regardless of whether they may get tortured ot executed.

Charge Blair, Brown and the entire cabinet, past and present, with Treason and ensure that the maximum possible sentence to passed. Charge Cherie with stealing money from a charity and extradite her to Australia to face their justice.

This is to name a few as I don't have the time to write up everything that I would do.
