The rabbit is dead. This phrase has also been used to imply that someone is pregnant.
Similarly, don't believe that a rabbit's foot is lucky. The rabbit had four of them and look at how lucky he was.

I can't answer your question, but I had this experience myself. Freakin spooky, no doubt. I found one caught in a chainlink fence with his head decapitated and laying on the other side of the fence. This really freaked me out and I tried my hardest to figure out how this happened. The rabbit wasn't decapitated cleanly, but what animal would bite a rabbits head off (assuming he was caught in the fence when it happened) and not consume the rabbit as prey??? I saw this about 6 months ago and I am still puzzled. The owner of the property did not have any pets! I hope WE get an answer.

Scary! I think somebody told me it's a symbol of death. It could also be a warning that the viewer who saw the rabbit will only have 9 days to live.
