I am trying to listen to, well, anything on my computer but no sound is coming out. I am on a windows laptop and I already checked the speaker thing on the bottom right corner, and its on. I checked the volume from all the players I play anything on, and they are supposed to be pumping out sound. What is going on?!?!?

Well, it seems your speakers are operational... The only problem is missing software or a program... There are a lot of softwares in the internet and in computer shops... There are also a lot of variaties, if you'd like to have an equalizer, etc... As long, you are missing software for your speakers... Otherwise, try checking the sound controls in the control panel (if you're a windows user) maybe the settings are put on mute or the bar is put on 0...

make sure the driver installed properly by examining Device Manager;
the sound hardware not disabled;
the speaker not turned off on the laptop (some laptops have alternate switch to turn off the speaker);

Hi!

Maybe the sound is disabled. Check to see whether your sound card is enabled. Also, go to Control Panel in Sounds and Audio Devices.

Also: Run : dxdiag >sounds

Good luck!

Reinstall the drivers for your sound card. And use the drivers that came with it, not some drivers you dowloaded from Internet as beeing better. They say they're better, but they don't always work at all...
