Mary Kay has a cute and great Glamour Brush set that I love and that's not too expensive, especially compared to MAC brushes. There's an angled shadow brush, a blending brush, a eyeliner brush, a eyebrow/lash brush, a powder brush and a larger blending brush in a cute black rollup bag with room for other brushes you have already. I think the set is $45.

try sonia kusak (found at target). they are comparable to the expensive brushes like MAC. I have a few of her brushes and they are pretty good. you can also go to ulta and get some brushes from japanesque or something like that. i hear that they are the same ones like MAC.

i would recommend 'Jemma Kidd' make-up brushes. they start at £10 for blusher and cheaper for eye shadow and are really easy to use.
