Well, that would mean she was born in the 40s and was part of the 60s generation. She should like anything from the 50s-70s genre of music. I take it this is your husbands mom. I'd ask your husband what kind of music did she listen too, when he was growing up and that will give you a good idea on artists/bands.

I think you should ask her. Start a conversation about what she listened to in the 50's/60's. Ask if she still likes that today, how she listened to music then and if she listens to music now.
People over 40 love to tell stories about "when I was a kid" and compare then to now. If you get her talking about that you can tell what she likes today. Also if you watch movies with her and basically spend some time with her, you will be able to tell right away what her style is.
You could be surprised...she could have tastes very similar to yours! I know 60 year olds who like Hip Hop and heavy metal! On the other hand, she may be in to Lawrence Welk and his Champain Music. You better ask her or spend some time with her and find out.

I'm in my sixties and I love all the 'pop' music from the 50's through to the 80's, but couldn't get on with the 90's!!
Last month I went with my son to see my fav. band, Status Quo;
they were great.
Your Mother-in-Laws tastes could be very different to mine, though!

My mum loves a band called Runrig... Scottish.. a mix of Gaelic folk music with a very slight rock influence.
Other than that either classics...e.g. Andrea Bocelli...
or anything easy listening.
