Have you ever realized that some pets are treated better than humans?

I mean, come ON. There are people in the world DYING and here we are, buying our dogs diamond collars, and our cats plush throne. personally, im disgusted.

It's funny that you ask this because me and my sister swear that my Mom treats her pets better than she ever treated us! Yes, people do get ridiculous with their pets. I have three inside dogs and love them dearly. They are more spoiled than the average hound by laying on the couch with us, but I don't spend any money on them but food and vet bills when needed; I let them be dogs. People say that dogs are smarter and nicer than humans, but imagine what our pets would say about us if they could talk!

My pets do not have diamonds or plush thrones. I give them good quality food and housing and I get them medical care when and if they need it.
Have you ever noticed that the people that usually complain about this very topic are usually the ones always looking for a handout??
This is a free world and I work hard for my money, so I do as I see fit. Just because I take care of my pets, rescued ferrets btw, does not mean I do not do anything for humanity. I just don't advertise it, no need to.
Go save someone yourself, don't wait for other people to do it for you.

My dog does not have diamond collars but he is spoiled rotten and I would not have it any other way. I treat him way better than I treat most people because he is better than most people. Animals will treat you better than most people, they are way more honest, innocent, kind and love unconditionally. I am an animal rights activist but I will admit I do little for the humanity issues. In my local area I help others but not on a wide scale basis and I would never change my mind. I like animals better than most people.

My cat loves me She doesn't talk about me, lie about me. She comforts me when I am down.She is the most loyal friend I have ever had.Yes! My cat is spoiled, she has a lot of toys.She is always grateful.She wakes me up with kisses every morning. She is always happy to see me.
I give her the best food! She counts on me. She is helpless she can't do a thing for herself! I reward her and she deserves it!I am sorry that there are people dying in the world. There isn't much I can do about that. I can be the best Mommy to my cat that I can be.

I know I work very hard for my money and should be able to spend my money as I choose to.Then I guess i'm guilty for buying things for my dogs to make them comfortable and to look pretty.

My dogs treat me better then most humans do.The more people I meet ,the better I like my dogs. They don't judge me , they are always there waiting for me after a long day at work , and keep me safe at night when my hubby is working. All they ask for in return is a warm place to sleep , food , and a rub behind the ear. They are totally loyal and non judgemental, I couldn't ask for 2 better companions.

I completely believe each thing you have pronounced. i won't be able to appreciate why somebody would get an animal without doing any study in any respect. As a guinea pig proprietor what annoys me the main is whilst human beings get in basic terms one! they can't stay on my own or they get so lonely and may even die from melancholy. human beings would desire to would desire to bypass a attempt to have an animal. that's lots to basic to easily get animals and human beings abuse that. What approximately all of the human beings on right here who say particularly annoying issues and ask what's faulty without even taking their animal to the vet? How stupid is that? human beings would be so ignorant. a number of the human beings on right here particularly hardship me and don't look they'd desire to be allowed everywhere close to an animal. I agree pets are no longer assets and should not be made to do or positioned on issues.that's undesirable the way small animals are dealt with as though they do no longer count.

Neither my dog or cats have diamond collars but I do spoil them terribly and they are very happy pets. Animals are innocent and child like and need to be treated thus so.

Well how many DYING people have you saved this year? If people have the desire and the money they should do what the heck they want for another human being, themselves, or animals.

Yes, animal comfort has become big business, but who's to say what's extreme. I have a dog (no kids not by choice) and I do take care of my dog-child better then some parents take care of their child(ren). BUT -- if I would have been blessed with a child I would still try to do the best for him/her.

Just because we spoil our animals, we still volunteer time/money to help others.

You're casting stones w/out knowing facts and assuming your generalization is correct. It's not.

i completely agree with you. i've read all the pet lovers' responses above and realized they have their reasons too, although i think their reasons are a bit (sorry to say this) selfish. loving dogs and cats because they won't talk behind your back, or steal your boyfriend, etc. whoever said that relationships are easy?

i've watched the movie "what a girl wants" by amanda bynes. there was a particular scene that amused me. amanda's grandma once said when she tried to embrace her: "stop, we show our affections only to dogs and kittens only" or something like that.

its funny how people could be very cold to other humans while cuddling dogs and kittens.

My pets do not talk nasty about me behind my back, try to steal my boyfriend, or borrow my clothes and never give them back. They do not steal from, rape, or beat innocent people. They do not start wars for religious or political gain. When I am sad, they comfort me. When I am happy, they are happy with me. I cannot cure the world's ills with $14.95, but I can buy a fluffy bed for my pet with it. If that disgusts you, well, we all have issues.
