My Truck got totaled so I havea good excuse this year not to visit.
Besides, who wants hear about Granpas big one that got away again and Mommas burr on her heel was removed and Aunt Bethany still passes gas. Unlce Art lost a pint of fluid in his back to surgery, and my Niece got her first period......give me a fricken break!!

Have you explained how you feel to your partner? It may be that you are being overly sensitive. If you have children, you must understand that your negative attitude will have a negative effect on them. You should go for their sake and make a really sincere effort to not hold a grudge for past situations, but try to become closer to his parents. I'm sure things will get better if you go with a positive attitude. They will always be his parents and the kids grandparents. So, best if you work this out now.

What's the reason that your partner's family ignores you? I'd confront them if being part of that family is important. No, I don't agree -- you all should alternate between families. Why should you have to spend every Christmas with their family. Compromise is in order.
