don't buy anything to "help" them with cooking or cleaning unless it was specifically requested. Most women think of cooking and cleaning as a "job" at which they are overworked and underpaid. Purchase a gift that goes along with an enjoyable activity not one that most women loath.

Well, if it was a dish washer (which I haven't got) then I'd be very happy about it. Although it is a thing for the kitchen, it would make my life easer as I wouldn't have to do all that washing up all the time. Sometimes I have to do the washing up 3 times a day!!! So you see, in my case a dishwasher would be an excellent gift. It would show that the man has thought about me and doesn't want me to slave over the unwashed dishes.

Depends... if you know she likes to cook, then she probably won't mind...but it would be best to buy something else to go with the kitchen stuff...something cheesy and sentimental...to soften the shock of receiving a kitchen thing as a gift... But generally, kitchen stuff are things that you buy out of need, not as a gift....

Well I suppose it would be like giving a fella a pair of rubber gloves and a bottle of toilet cleaner for their Christmas pressie wouldn't it, its a thoughtless gift and insulting too, have a lovely Christmas and stay away from the kitchen department when buying gifts.

well personally i wouldnt. we always end up doing all the work in the kitchen anyway so we might as well have nice things to use...but it couldnt hurt to accompany the present with something more luxurious. if its the only thing u get her dont expect a sincere thank u.

That depends. One thoughtful, romantic gift goes a long way at Christmas. As long as you make the romantic gesture and make sure THAT is opened first, then the more practical gifts are easier to appreciate. You have to feed our need for romance first. It's key. ;D

Depends on the woman! I've been known to ask for non stick pans, woks,George Foreman grills,slowcookers,etc... But I really enjoy cooking,so view those things as a chance to improve my culinary talents!

No , they do not.
Unless its something that is irrelevant and not needed by them.
U could try adding something else too [like perfume etc] --- to the kitchen item --- to cool them dn ,,,, in case the kitchen item is disagreeable.

My Mum thought kitchen stuff and other things for housework were things that were to be bought as needed, and NEVER for gifts.

And how would you like it if the person who was meant to know you better than any-one kept buying you book tokens or indiscriminate spanners.ho ho ho.what good things. If we wanted a new frying pan we'd buy or own, and we don't really need the latest gadget deep fat fryer for one ? do we now.
lol.
