2. Well, let's look first at the reality of a prostitute's life, and see how precariously vulnerable she is.
(a) She routinely approaches male strangers.
(b) She is prepared to get into a car with a stranger.
(c) She goes with a stranger to somewhere secluded for privacy.
(d) She is prepared to remove her clothing for a man who she does not know, and make herself sexually available to him.
(e) She may often have her judgement impaired through alcohol and/or drug abuse.

3. For a man intent on murdering a woman, a prostitute represents a readily available target victim. He may also have some psycho-sexual motive for selecting sex workers (e.g. one had mocked his sexual performance, and he seeks revenge and gratification through the ultimate exercise of power over the unfortunate victim).

4. However not all serial killers target prostitutes, and I would hazard a guess that most serial killers do not seek to kill sex workers.
a) Fred West - he targeted any vulnerable woman, including prostitutes, runaways and even his own daughter.
