My employer is a small family owned and operated company. I am a single person. She thinks she can get away with treating me any kind of way while I'm employed by her.

SO, quit. You can do that with out getting the legal system involved and it's free! Just so you know, "small, family owned" sent bells off in my head for several reasons. Mainly because small companies with fewer than 15 employees are exempt from frivolous law suits.

More life than you have. Things like this should be taken care of through some agency which rules your company possibly, or EDD, but likely you will get nowhere. Legal suits can take more money than you can think of having.
