If the target price of infosys was 10,000 then people might think oh it has reached the maximum so what is the point in buying for Rs. 10000 it is not going to increase much anymore?

With a company such as Infosys, there will always be a market at some price. If not at 10000 then perhaps at 9998 for example assuming that the stock recently did trade at 10000.

However, one must always be aware that some drastic event might happen just before you decide to sell your shares that might cause the stock to drop a great deal in price. That has been know to happen a lot. Remember last May.

Are you serious about your question? I mean I have never thought or heard of this type of question.
OK,now, this is never going to happen as share market will always find some buyers. But some times it may happen to some low volume counters, and for some stocks for which sebi restricts trading for some days-like GE SHIPPING in recent times, because of some penalty or so. This may be some cause of wory.Otherwise be sure that a market outperformer like infosys which have volumes in huge everyday, will not face a problem like that(actually you),infosys will not touch 10,000 next year neither it is 2700 now.

Hi - I suggest you get your fundamentals cleared, first... the "school" section on sharekhan.com or any book on the share market will give you basics of how the shares trading happens...
Essentially, understand that a share is a tiny percentage of the "ownership" of a business that you buy or sell... if the business stops doing well then it is possible that there will be no buyer for its shares and if you had the ill-fate (or bad "tip" or wrong business analysis) to buy the shares of that business, then your shares will have no market value... If the business becomes bankrupt and closes down then you can well write off the share capital as money-down-the-drain...
However, your example is exactly in reverse! If the prices are going higher for any company, it shows that public has more and more faith in the management of that company and is ready to trust it with their individual investments.
When someone buys a share at a very high price, it is because he thinks the business will do even better and prices will go even higher up...
Good luck and happy investing! But please do so only after due analysis and research...
Thanks.

On the American NASDAQ, INFY is selling for about $52.98 (I'll leave the currency conversion to you. Over the last year the stock has ranged from a low of $31.96 to a high of $56.89. The general trend is up, although the last month and a half is slightly off the general course, it is still up.

You can wait. It is a good company and there is lots of interest in it all around the world. Patience.

That question means you do not understand how markets work. Better off not buying anything other than mutual funds if so.
